Northern Taiwan Campervan Routes

Northern Taiwan’s challenge is strong coastal wind and heavy urban traffic—leave slack in the schedule and park legally.

First Rule for Northern Routes: Leave Slack

Whether it is a weekend loop or a 3-day, 2-night trip, greater Taipei and the coast often see weekend traffic and parking pressure. Campervans are wider and need more time to park, turn, and open doors—build buffer into the route instead of packing every attraction. The Ministry of Transportation and Tourism also encourages safety and comfort over over-packed itineraries.

Role of the North Coast National Scenic Area

The North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration publishes attraction and recreation information and updates carrying capacity and safety reminders. In strong wind, secure awnings and tarps per safety guidance; when photographing, watch tide pools and wave conditions underfoot.

Urban Access and Freeways

Entering and leaving freeways from Taipei and New Taipei, review Freeway Bureau ramp and alternate route information first; rest on schedule for long drives. If large-vehicle driving is new to you, Highway Bureau YouTube safety videos help establish basics.

Connecting to Joyforest’s Service Area

Joyforest focuses on handover and consultation in Taipei, Taoyuan, and Hsinchu—northern radial routes work well as “pick up, head to North Coast, then decide whether to go south.” Confirm available dates and delivery details on the booking page and with customer service.
