Up to NT$20m excess liability
Third-party and passenger excess liability is up to NT$20,000,000 total per accident, subject to policy wording and attachment conditions.
JoyForest CamperVan Rental's campervan carries automobile insurance including up to NT$20 million total third-party and passenger excess liability per accident, third-party liability, passenger liability, driver injury, and Type B vehicle-body cover. This page starts with protection, then explains ordinary collision liability, the deposit, and the separate responsibility for the camper cabin and equipment.
Each cover has its own limit, policy wording, and insurer review. Per-person, per-accident, primary, compulsory, passenger, and excess limits work differently and must not be added into one headline total. The effective policy on the accident date controls; ask us to reconfirm the current policy at booking or handover.
Third-party and passenger excess liability is up to NT$20,000,000 total per accident, subject to policy wording and attachment conditions.
For an ordinary covered vehicle-body collision, a compliant renter's contractual responsibility is capped at NT$10,000 per accident.
The deposit secures post-return settlement. Documented ETC, parking, fuel, cleaning, loss, equipment, or damage charges above it remain payable.
This is the current coverage summary. Claim approval and payment depend on the accident, liability allocation, effective policy, limits, and insurer review.

The deposit is settlement security; it is not a promise that every accident costs only NT$5,000.
Under the rental agreement, renter responsibility is capped at NT$10,000 per accident only when all of these apply:
The current NT$5,000 deposit can settle:
Any balance is refunded; documented charges above the deposit are settled separately.
Automobile insurance does not mean every camper structure and item is included in vehicle-body cover.
It primarily addresses the insured base vehicle and approved liabilities for third-party bodily injury, death, property damage, and passengers, subject to each limit and policy term.
The camper cabin, roof, attached structures, interior build, water and electrical systems, appliances, furniture, awning, and camping or entertainment equipment are not part of the insured automobile body. Holes, cracks, deformation, leaks, structural damage, or loss are handled at documented repair or replacement cost.
Minor branch marks, light surface scratches, and small non-structural scuffs are generally normal wear. A more noticeable corner impact receives only a reasonable, usually modest charge when repair is actually needed. Holes, breakage, leaks, deformation, or structural damage are the threshold for material repair charges.
Protect people first, then preserve complete information so the insurance process can proceed.
These cases follow the rental agreement, policy, and actual loss. Neither the deposit nor the ordinary collision cap is the final liability limit.
Insurance does not remove the actual driver's criminal, administrative, or civil responsibility.
As of 17 Aug 2026, JoyForest CamperVan Rental has about two years of campervan-rental experience without an accident involving serious personal injury, major third-party liability, or a severe automobile-insurance claim. The most serious renter-caused case was a roof/camper-cabin scrape against a low rain awning, with repair above NT$10,000. The historical deposit was NT$10,000 and was retained in full. The current deposit is NT$5,000; that past handling does not cap a future loss at the deposit.
At handover we repeat the key warning: the vehicle is approximately 3 metres high. Avoid underground parking, low awnings, shelters, signs, steel frames, and branches. When clearance is uncertain, stop and get out to check.
