Shared Coastal Challenges: Wind, Salt, and Waves
Coastal views are open, but crosswind, salt spray, and UV stress the vehicle and outdoor gear. Secure awnings, tarps, and light strings safely; do not leave valuables exposed beside the van. The Central Weather Administration and Ministry of Transportation and Tourism both warn travelers about sudden weather and sea conditions.
Why Plan in Segments
Taiwan’s coastline is long—treating “the entire coast” as one trip often means driving nonstop. Five directional segments give each journey a clear resupply city and exit route: if weather turns, switch to hills or return to the city.
National Scenic Areas and Protected Zones
Some coastlines fall under national scenic areas or national parks with stricter traffic and parking rules—follow on-site signs and staff. For photos and water play, watch tide pool safety and do not cross warning lines.
