How international guests travel|Three Israeli friends, seven-day loop: surf, roads, mobile cabin

Sometimes the best trip is not rushing checkpoints but having something to do every day. Below is an itinerary story inspired by a real handover: three guys pick up in central Taipei, load boards and bags into a mobile base, loop Taiwan along coast and mountains—foreigners traveling freely in Taiwan on a mates' road trip.

Departure|Handover in central Taipei Pavement still damp after rain, minds already at the beach—that's the road-trip opening move.

Seven days? A "mates surf loop" script

Day 1|Taipei, pickup day. Handover near Regent Taipei; treat the van as a big luggage bay: wetsuits, boards, supplies aboard. Don't force distance—evening along North Coast or Northeast Coast for a windy parking spot; night-one instant noodles in the van still count.

Day 2–3|Yilan, Hualien—the sea owns the clock. Time for Wushi Harbor, Waiao breaks and coastal highway; when tired, Qingshui Cliffs, Qixingtan for staring and photos. Campervan upside: after surfing, no hotel rush—rinse salt, then decide on night market.

Day 4–5|Taitung, Kenting—tan the south. Drift Highway 11 or aim for Hengchun Peninsula waves; Nanwan, Jialeshui—"how's the swell today" debates; one van, one co-pilot watching waves, one shouting hungry. Night van-camping by the sea; compare snores to engine rumble.

Day 6|Head west, snacks as victory lap. Detour Tainan for beef soup and squid noodles, or Chiayi turkey rice—last few hundred km, taste Taiwan again.

Day 7|Back Taipei, return van, keep the stories. Wash, fuel, shake out sand; phone full of "mates selfie + waves" and "open door, there's the sea." Not luxury, but very free—guys' trip doesn't need a tour bus; with a campervan you bring living room and beds around the island.

Note: Above is travel inspiration; swell, weather, roads, and legal stops change daily; international rental, license rules, route, and cost per booking and handover.
