How to use this list

Choose a travel theme first, then check the map, photo and latest source for each place. Even a formal campground may need advance confirmation that it accepts an outside self-drive campervan around 3 m high. At beaches, harbours, parks and hot-spring parking areas, same-day signs and manager instructions always take priority. If a place is unsuitable, move to a nearby managed campsite rather than forcing the stop.
